Tourmaline

Tourmaline offers the widest color range of any gemstone, which makes it a favorite among collectors and faceters alike. From rich pink and red to cool green, deep blue, and even bicolor stones that blend two shades in a single gem, no other species gives you this much variety. Each tourmaline in this collection is hand faceted in our Massachusetts studio to bring out its color and brilliance.

Tourmaline is a stone where cutting truly matters. It shows different color depending on the angle you view it from, so a thoughtful faceter has to orient and cut each piece to capture its best face. That careful, stone by stone approach is exactly what we bring to every gem here, turning fine rough into a lively, vivid finished gem.

At 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, tourmaline holds up well in rings, pendants, and everyday jewelry, and it serves as a birthstone for October. If you do not see the color you are after, please ask. We source rough as well as finished material, so we can often track down a specific tourmaline and cut it to order for a custom piece.
