One stone at a time, in the order booked.

This is a one-person studio, not a production shop. Work goes in the order it is booked, so the wait above is what it is - I would rather tell you the real number than a hopeful one. Ordering several stones extends it proportionally. If you need a set, or you are working to a date, message me first and I will tell you honestly whether I can meet it.

How pricing works

Commissions start at $320, shipping included. That is a booking minimum rather than a measure of time spent - it is what makes a job worth setting up for. Above that, two things move the price, and both come down to time at the machine.

Material
Harder species take longer to cut and considerably longer to polish. A sapphire in the same design and size as an amethyst is more work, regardless of what the rough costs.
Size
A 10 mm stone isn't slightly more work than a 6 mm. There's more facet area to cut and much more surface to bring to a full polish, so the time roughly doubles.

Why designs are matched to material

Every species bends light differently, so a design that performs beautifully in quartz can fall flat in garnet. The angles that send light back to your eye depend on the refractive index. That's why each design lists only the materials it genuinely suits.
